Life Experience Overseas
Volunteering abroad is a challenging and rewarding life-changing experience. As a volunteer, you will be helping disadvantaged people and communities using your professional and educational abilities. Your skills will contribute to the empowering of women and children still living below the poverty-line and in need of your help. Volunteer placements are available all year round in the state of Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. You will be volunteering in small and medium organisations that were set up to provide assistance and help people in need.
The United Euro Bridge liaises volunteers to six charities in India:
- GOOD SHEPHERD ORGANISATION (GOSON) in Tiruvannamalai, Southern India
- SHANTI CHILDREN PROJECT in Tiruvannamalai, Southern India
- PADASALE in Karnataka, India
- MEDICAL CAMP INDIA in Tamil
- RAMANA'S CHILDREN HOME AND PRIMARY SCHOOL in Uttaranchal, Northern India
- TIRUVANNAMALAI LEARNING CENTRE in Tamil Nadu, Southern India
The type of volunteer projects that you may join include:
- community development
- helping care for orphaned and vulnerable children
- educational assistance
- community health
- Recreational activities such as music and dance, drawing, painting
- HIV/AIDS awareness and education
- Formal & non formal vocational training for vulnerable women
- Organic farming
- Conservation of water, soil and forest
The United Euro Bridge will facilitate this fulfilling experience by providing:

- culture preparation
You can apply if:
- You are 21+
- You can commit for a minimum of 3 months
- You have personal and professional qualities that demonstrate adaptability, sensitivity, tolerance
- You are able to carry out your work to a high standard of professionalism in conditions and with resources that may not match those that are used at home
